Bitumen

We offer both Embossed & Non-Embossed bitumen in multiple grades suitable for national highways, urban roads, and infrastructure projects.

Viscosity Grade Classification

Bitumen is classified into different viscosity grades to ensure suitable performance under varying temperatures and traffic conditions. The grade determines the hardness, flow behavior, and load-bearing capacity of the pavement.

Common VG Grades and Their Use

  • VG 10 is a softer grade used in colder climatic regions and for surface dressing or spraying applications where better flow at lower temperatures is required.
  • VG 30 is the most widely used grade for national highways, state highways, and urban roads operating under moderate temperature and traffic conditions.
  • VG 40 is a harder grade recommended for heavy traffic roads, expressways, industrial zones, and areas with high ambient temperatures.

Embossed and Non-Embossed Bitumen

After selecting the appropriate VG grade, bitumen is supplied in two packaging formats — embossed drums and non-embossed drums. The difference lies only in drum identification and branding, not in product quality or performance.

Embossed Bitumen

Embossed bitumen is packed in metal drums carrying the manufacturer’s permanent embossed branding. This allows easy verification of source and authenticity. It is commonly preferred in government tenders, NHAI projects, and large infrastructure developments where traceability is mandatory.

Non-Embossed Bitumen

Non-embossed bitumen is supplied in plain drums without branded embossing. It offers the same technical performance and quality standards and is generally chosen for private projects, contractor works, and local road construction due to cost efficiency and flexible procurement.

Applications

Both embossed and non-embossed bitumen are used in the same manner at site. The bitumen is heated to the required temperature and applied for paving, surface dressing, or maintenance works based on project specifications. Packaging type does not impact heating, mixing, or laying procedures.

Product Overview

Bitumen is a petroleum-based binding material widely used in road construction due to its strong adhesion, flexibility, and durability. It plays a critical role in pavement performance by holding aggregates together and providing resistance against traffic load, moisture, and temperature variations. The selection of bitumen depends mainly on viscosity grade, climatic conditions, and expected traffic volume.
